Q: Dr. Lant, how long have you been profiting online?A: Since 1993.Q: Is it easier or harder to make money now than then?

A: Immensely easier. For instance, back in 1993 you could only have a static, one-dimensional website. These websites were essentially just bulletin boards where you posted information about your product, service, organization or company.Now, thanks to what I call the video-ization of the net, a website like this is totally obsolete.For instance on my website, the home page opens with a video by me welcoming folks to my site and advising them how to get the most from it.

I also show people how to subscribe to my newsletter and get a free book. Each of my books also has an individual video enabling me to talk about the their contents and benefits. I was the first person in the world to have product videos on my website. Now it's common. Everyone should have them!

Q: Can you tell us more about the video-ization of the Web?

A: Absolutely. Every day I conduct the bulk of my business in my online Meeting Room. Here I can meet with people one at a time or up to 150 people at once. If they have a webcam (and most people do nowadays) I can put people on screen one at a time and engage in direct, eyeball-to-eyeball conversations. If they have no webcam, they type in their questions and I answer them on screen. People visiting my Meeting Room can come from anywhere on earth, have no software to download and pay nothing to visit.

Q: Dr. Lant, I know you're a well-known trainer and lecturer. Do you have advice for others who want to give workshops, seminars and other training programs online?

A: Certainly. Personally, I use a Worldprofit Professional Seminar System to offer both paid and free training and workshop programs. In fact, I couldn't run my business without it. It gives me the ability to talk live to groups of up to 150 online and record these programs so that people can access them for free or a fee, as I want.This ability to record all my meetings and training programs is vital; (it's available in my Meeting Room, too). Each program I give can be recorded and turned into a link and emailed to people in my ezine, individual email messages, in my signature file, etc.The end result is what I call an international business and communications center. It is the antithesis of the flat, one-dimensional 'post it and they will buy' site which far too many people online still use to their detriment.
